French Graphics Chest of Drawers

This was a chest of drawers with a simple plain front.

These are great for adding graphics to!

In this pic, I have removed the "eagle" shaped hardware and knobs. I had to give it a good cleaning before I got started. If I had known I'd ever be blogging, I would have taken more pictures. I'm sorry :(
Because the top had that "laminated wood" thing going, I sanded and primed it. That's why you see it taped off. Then, I gave the whole piece two coats of Behr "Polished Pearl" mixed with Websters. Doesn't it look better already?
A while back, I found an old Astroscope overhead projector at a yardsale...score! Next, I pulled out my .25 cent thrift store graphics book and chose something for the front. I projected the image and traced/ colored it in with an India ink marker from Michaels. Because the ink is oil based, sealing it with solvent based wax was tricky....too much pressure and the ink would smear. So I very lightly applied "Light" Fiddes wax to the front and two or three coats on the top.

Added glass handles and knobs from Hobby Lobby and viola!
